Essie Skirting the Issue

I recently discovered Klout, a website that monitors your social media influence.  I'm not 100% how it does it and as the site is still in beta, it doesn't function intuitively, but somehow along the way, I managed to get a fairly nice influence score.  With those scores, you become eligible for certain perks offered on the site for free.  My heart skipped a beat when I found out that I was eligible for the Essie Stylenomics perk, which sent one polish (not of choice) from the Fall 2o12 collection to those claiming this perk.

While I liked the collection conceptually, at the time of my perk, I didn't have any of the new shades on my wish list.  However, once I opened my Klout package to reveal the bottle of blood red jelly polish, I had to rethink my first impression.

Skirting the Issue is a classic burgundy jelly.  It applies very well, but since it is a true jelly with some purple undertones, the application is not even and took four coats to reach an opacity that I was comfortable with.  Regardless of how long it took to apply, once on, I was in love.  My skin glow in comparison to this rich jelly and I knew I needed the rest of this collection.

The best part?  This mani lasted 3 days without any chips or tipwear.  The only reason I took it off was because I need to swatch a polish sent for review.  Otherwise, I'd still most probably be wearing the gorgeously vampy Skirting the Issue.

Do you own any of the Stylenomics collection?  And are you on Klout?  Let me know!

  1. Lovely shade!! I don't own anything from this collection. It just didn't wow me. And nope, I'm not on Klout, just because I don't want to join yet another thing, lol.

  2. Interesting color, I don't think I own anything like it, but if you were to do some nail art, I think it'd come in handy for Halloween! I know you don't do nail art, that's why I said if! =) I'm on Klout, but I don't get it, so I quit checking up on it... Have you had a better experience?

  5. Lol about the nail art ;)

I'm still unsure about Klout, but it's an interesting experiment that got me a free polish so I can't complain.
