Shimmer Polish Nichole

Now we're talking!

After my layering catastrophe yesterday, I'm pleased to show a layering win: Shimmer Polish Nichole over Essie Big Spender.  Now anyone who reads this blog, knows me, or has been in my room (which reads a bit creepier than intended), knows that I love purple.  I gravitate towards the color in an almost Pavlovian way that probably should be studied.

That being said, when I saw Nichole in the polish, my heart melted.  A mix of plum metallic glitter flecked with tiny silver sparkles and larger circular pieces of royal blue and red, Nichole became an instant friend.  Seamlessly blending with the deeper purple Essie creme, the larger blue and red pieces stand out more noticeably, giving the finish look a twilightesque feel.

My favorite part of Nichole is the silvery microglitter that offsets the larger pieces.  Anything tiny and sparkly like that gives a polish a starry effect that I find quite nice.  Scattered with the rest of the glitter, my ring finger kind of looks like a galaxy.  This is really a win in my book.

If you are interested in purchasing this or any other Shimmer Polish, please visit Cindy's Etsy shop by clicking here.  Each bottle retails for $12 USD and she now makes custom polish upon request!

  4. This is gorgeous! Your base goes perfectly with the glitter. It compliments the colors but still makes them pop. It really does give that starry effect.

  5. The red makes it look too confetti-ish IMHO, but of course this is why there is something for everyone! I do love a mix of purple and royal blue though; it needs to be done more often.

  6. I hear what you mean. In some ways, I see a circus tent here. But I love the purple and blue, so I make exception.
