Twinsie Tuesday: Floral

Oh, Tuesdays.

After my epic triumph (if I do say so my self) from last week, I realized that my newly discovered nail art skills were reserved for leopard print alone.  Which is unfortunate given that today's challenge required the Twinsies to post a floral manicure.  Ugh.  Major ugh.

For one, I'm not much of a flower girl.  I know that most girls like receiving flowers as gifts but I personally don't want something that will die within a week.  I mean I like floral patterns on certain things, but as a general rule, I avoid all things with stems.

That being the case, I was forced to cheat through the challenge this week.  My heart simply was not in it.  I tried a bunch of dotticured flowers suggested to me by my newest Twinsie, Elizabeth, but that was a major fail on my end.  After nearly 40 minutes of that nonsense, I attempted freehand.  That was passable but pretty bad, so I opted to cheat.  So sue me.

Here we have RGB Minty, the perfect pastel mint green.  It was very bright when I took this picture and wasn't able to make this more color accurate, so just believe me when I say this is the perfect balance between green and blue and does not cause lobster hands!  Even more exciting, there is no streaking!!!  Most mints I have are a pain in the behind to apply but this was absolutely buttery happiness in a bottle.  To floralize it up (yeah, I just used that word in a sentence), I added one of my favorite rings: an oversized black rose I snagged at Accessorize when I was visiting the fam in London a few years ago.  I love the irony of a black rose and actually get tons of comments on it when I wear it.

Anyways, there's a rose in this picture and some green.  Take that as floral.

And because I know that I constantly bemoan my nail art skills, I decided to show you ladies, against my better judgment, my freehand attempt at the floral mani.  It's so terrible I didn't even both to adjust the lighting and just took a few camera pics in my kitchen at night.  You can make out our tiled floor in the background.

This picture begs the question: was there really a need to watermark??
For perhaps some real floral manis, I highly recommend you check out my Twinsies' posts this morning:

Sorry the dots didn't work out, but this minty colour is gorgeousness! Totally crushing on your awesome ring, too. And by the way, your freehand flower? Hands-down better than any of my early efforts. So there. ;-p

  34. I'd rather be creative in my cheating than actually fulfilling the challenge. Does that make me a bad Twinsie??
