While my first foray into Essence eyeshadow was not super positive, I'm happy to announce that my second trial was much better!
Unlike in the first review, the Sun Club Glamour to Go Eyeshadow in Long Beach included eight highly pigmented neutral, brown, and golden shades that are perfect for a bronzed goddess glow in the summer. These colors adhered to my skin and did not dust off easily once applied. But first the packaging:
I have to say that while the actual squares of shadow are on the smaller side, having eight distinct yet cohesive shades in one pocket sized palette is something I appreciate. I typically don't carry around eyeshadow with me and one of the main reasons is the bulk. With this cute little palette, I can slip this in my makeup bag and go. Is it sad that I literally just realized that that's probably why they called this set "Glamour to Go?"
Here are the swatches on my forearm, swatched from left to right of the top row and then left to right of the bottom row. As you can see, the colors are rich. Additionally, the shadows come in both shimmer and matte finishes so the color combinations and effects are virtually endless (mathematically inclined people need not contradict me please). Even though I think these shades are perfect for a bronzed look in summer, I can totally see these darker, autumnal shades for a smokey fall look as well. Major win in my book.
