Brucci Mi Papi

Brucci has always been a favorite brand of mine.  Their bottles and prices have not changed since I was a little girl, but their color range has broadened every season to include some of the coolest shades and finishes.

My Papi is, as you can see from the purple sticker below, a newer shade that I believe was released last year.  A pale aqua creme, I was initially disappointed that this wasn't more blue.  I don't know why I wanted a brighter blue finish to this but for some reason the very slight green undertones didn't sit well with me.

But then I decided to give this polish another chance and swatched it again.  The few weeks' separation did wonders for my relationship with Mi Papi and I absolutely fell in love with it.  I mean, it's just the coolest shade of aqua and reminds me of swimming pools at a luxury resort in the Caribbean.  If a creme can do that for me, I know it's a winner.

This is two buttery coats.  I absolutely adore Brucci formula!

It makes me sad that Brucci isn't more widely available across the US since they tend to range from about $2-$4 and like I said before, have remarkable formulas.  From what I've heard, Brucci is mainly marketed in the New York Metropolitan area but from cursory research online, is actually a South African company that is somehow related to Bettina.  In fact, the Bettina bottles and formula are actually identical to Brucci, although the colors are not.  If you are interested in buying Brucci online, just be careful to not overspend because some of the rarer shades (Black Emerald, for example) can go for a ridiculous amount on eBay.  (I've linked the eBay search to show you that this can range from about $4 to $16 online.)  If you are seriously interested in Brucci, my recommendation would be to swap for it or find a NY local to send it your way.  I just hate price gouging.
