Good morning, girls. It's Twinsie Tuesday!
Today's challenge was to swatch a regional polish. Given that group is comprised of mostly Americans and two Canadians, I know that a lot of us had to think about what polish would be considered regional.
Luckily for me, I knew exactly which brand I'd choose: Mattese Elite. Sold exclusively (I think?) at Ricky's -- a New York City specialty makeup and costume store -- I always appreciated ME marketing. My all-time favorite collection was their tongue in cheek take on one of New York's most famous syndicates, the Mob.
Cosa Nostra Mob Collection is a jumble of dark, cool autumnal shades that had a very Gotham-esque feel. While I don't condone what the Mafia does in any shape or form, I am an unabashed fan of The Sopranos and Mob Wives...and grey polishes.
Consigliere, named after the title given to the second in command of a mafia family, is a pure elephant grey, with strong blue undertones and a really shiny finish; in fact, the swatches below were taken without any top coat. This creme applied really well, more thick than watery, it covered well in two to three coats. I like my polishes super opaque so this is 3 coats.
While this paleness of Consigliere made my skin look somewhat red, I really like how delicate it looks on. This polish makes me crave the fall when I can whip out my myriad of greys and neutrals, wear a plethora of layers, and be done with this infernal heat wave that's been racking New York.
Wondering what other regional polishes are out there? Check out the other Twinsies links below.
