Twinsie Tuesday: Patriotic Mani

Happy Twinsie Tuesday and almost Fourth of July!

In honor of Independence Day (and Canada Day last weekend -- shoutout Anne and Ash!), our challenge for today was to come up with a patriotic mani.  And if I do say so myself, I'm pretty impressed with what I have to offer today.

As I'm limited in my capabilities to anything other than spell nail art, I figured I'd try to do create an abstract American flag with some flair.

For my "Stars," I used the gorgeous a-england Tristam, a deep sapphire with the finest holographic shimmer.

For my "Stripes," I used Orly Au Champagne as my base and layered OPI Pink Shatter: Pink of Hearts over it.  This shimmery pink-red shatter was a limited edition OPI distributed in 2011 in honor of breast cancer awareness.

Over my white and red shattered stripes, I dusted a layer of Cover Girl City Lights, a clear top coat with holographic glitter, which while not totally visible in normal light, comes alive in the sun and adds that little special something to my "flag."

While I would never actually wear this out, I did absolutely love the few hours I had these on my fingers.   This mani was totally out of the box for me and just a fun way to experiment with polish in a way I never have before.  I guess I need to stop "cheating" on TT more often...

Wishing all you Americans stateside and abroad a happy and healthy Fourth of July!

  4. It is, but it's sooo not me.  I can't get away with nail art (or whatever this qualifies as), it just doesn't work for me.

  5. I as well can do nothing more than spell nail art. The whole point of the Twinsie Tuesday is to get different takes on the same theme, your take works. A-England Tristam really stands out. Well done.
