Nails Inc. Sweets Way

While I still have a few dregs left of Might as Well Try July, I will openly admit to loving what I'm about to show you.  Nails Inc., a British brand that I've previously paid little notice of (so they have pithy English names?  They're still basic cremes, ladies), has wowed me with the release of their recent Sprinkles Collection.  A selection of colored jelly bases infused with a concoction of pastel matte glitters, these polishes look good enough to eat.

But don't.  This very sad yet odd video will set you straight in case you were tempted to imbibe your lacquer.

Anyways, let's get back to the polish, shall we?  Sweets Way called me from across Sephora.  A white jelly packed with baby pink, sky blue, cream white, and silver matte glitter, I was actually shocked at how evenly this applied.  I initially planned layering this over a cream since I thought there was no way two coats (as suggested on the bottle) were enough for opacity.  But lo and behold, this is two coats on its own.

The matte glitter is a tiny bit bumpy so I used two layers of top coat because I like my nails smooth.  I actually wore this polish to work and people were kinda confused by it (can you blame them?).  But I absolutely loved having this on!  It just made me feel very cool, for lack of a better word; trendy but not overly so.

I want to conclude by saying there are two downsides to this polish: (1) the silver glitter is somewhat distracting and cheapens this polish a bit.  I think the pastel matte glitters would have been enough for Sweets Way to be a knock out; and (2) the removal.  Mon dieu, c'est terrible!  Yes, it was so bad that I resorted to saying that in French.  I tried my own version of the foil method -- basically putting the soaked cotton on my nails without the foil part -- and the cotton actually dried with the fibers stuck in the glitter.  A lot of elbow grease went into this removal and I actually found glitter in my cuticles for at least two days after removing this.

All in all, this is a gorgeous polish on the nail.  I just recommend you don't plan on taking it off once it's on.

P.S.  Happy Birthday, ChiChi!!!

  1. This glitter is really neat. I can't stand non-smooth nails, lol. I normally use Gelous and Seche Vite for my glitter issues :O)

  5. I've never been really drawn to Nails Inc either because of the fact that they're kind of expensive for creme polishes, but this one, as well as the entire collection, is stunning! They're so yummy looking to me. I'm really tempted.

  6. I really need to get these polishes! I keep waiting for a Sephora coupon so I don't have to pay full price! :)

  7. First of all, I tried watching that video and it both infuriated and nauseated me.

Second, I was totally expecting to have to layer this color. I'm glad that I don't have to! Love it!

  8. OMG Amanda, I had to take a double look to make sure this was you posting :-P, I don't see you with glitters very often so this is amazing on its own, must be a truly expectacular polish at first sight, need to run to Sephora to pick it up :) It looks amazing on you and I agree on the silver glitter, that should had been left out!

  10. Well, they're only $9.50.  Not super cheap but definitely not Chanel or DL prices.

  11. I hope you mean tempting to get.  We don't want any more polish drinkers hurting themselves.

  12. Ha, I didn't even know there were Sephora coupons.  I bought 2 of these full price; total splurge for me.

  13. As much as I like the layered look, I was really happy this worked on its own :)

  14. LOL, Iris!  Yes, it's me!  But this is a very cool polish; even a glitter hater like myself can't help but fall in love.  And I'm so glad you agree about the silver!

  15. Yeah, the removal was rough.  I personally would need to think twice before applying this again in the near future.  But it really is lovely, isn't it?

  16. Haha. You have gone over to the glitter side and I am rocking Cinderella since you have exposed me to soooo many blues.

  17. I want this one soooooo badly! :)

Girl. You gotta do the foil. It traps heat. That is the key <3 Or, you can be like me, and when I do not feel like using foil, I do the pop-off method, which is SUPER easy especially if you have 2 thick or 3 coats of glitter on, and SV as your topcoat :) I know you use that NYC one, but it might be worth it to pick up a bottle for times like this.

  18. I'm intrigued. What's the pop off method? Kinda sounds fun.

  19. I love this on you!! I'm so proud of my bestie for being adventurous! Yay for glitter! I wore Puddings Lane for 3 days they def do stay on :/

  20. Maybe it is known by another name, but that is what I call it. Basically, because glitter does not stick as well as just lacquer, more air will get in and you can just peel or pop them off. Often times it will come off in one nail-shaped sheet!

  22. This is a gorgeous polish. Boyfriend and I were at the mall with a Sephora and I was so sad they hadn't got their shipment of this collection in yet. My trick before the trying the foil method was soaking my glitter nails in a capful of remover, still involved elbow grease but not too much. P.S :) Thank you!!!

  25. I just have sensitive skin so I'm nervous about keeping my fingers in the remover longer than I have to.

Hope these reach you soon and that you had a wonderful birthday!

  28. I wasn't planning on getting this one but now I want it!!!! It looks so fun. I have two of the sprinkles polishes and didn't really have issues with removal...how strange.

  29. Oh really? You're lucky then. It was like dried glued on my fingernails. But if it's that easy to remove for you, I'd say get them all!
