CH Nail #23 (Neon Melon)

Neons and tangerines have really colored -- pun intended -- this year's summer palette.  The polish world, with a large array of highlighter hues and shades of orange, is all the richer for it.  I, as a result, am all the poorer.

CH Nail UV/LED glow polishes, sold from the Born Pretty Story, combine the two trends.  My swatch for you today, CH Nail #23, is a neon melon creme that might make you consider calling Hazmat from looking at the bottle.

On the nail, the color is even more vibrant, and as you can see from my first swatch taken in natural light, made my camera go a bit berserk.  For some reason, I just could not capture the vibrancy of this neon without washing out my skin tone.  That's how crazy neon this polish is.

The application was really quite smooth, but took three coats to cover all bald spots.

With flash (or in nighttime, more generally) is when this polish comes alive.  Talk about glow, this polish is a pseudo flashlight!  I simply love the fluorescence of this melon.

My only issue with this polish was the drying time.  I wore this twice, and both times #23 took hours to dry completely, despite the use of my best quick dry top coat.  The formula is somewhat rubbery as it's drying, which while making the polish more chip-resistant, keeps the polish from hardening in a reasonable time.  But if you have time and love the nuclear look on your nail, this is the polish for you!

  1. The color is really pretty, but I hate slow drying times...I think that would kill it for me, lol.

  2. Once you realize it does it though, you can time when you apply. But yeah, the first time I wore this I didn't realize and majorly smudged two hours after application.

  7. I have to say though that I liked the color and effect enough to deal. I don't have anything quite as nuclear as this.
