Chelsea, my guest poster for today, is one of my first blogging friends. I always enjoy her posts because they are equally informative as they are entertaining. Sometimes I personally can't read a long-winded description about a polish (blogger hypocrite alert), so I love Chelsea's to the point writing style and perfectly clear swatches. I just know you'll love her post for today :)
Hello everyone! I'm Chelsea from over at Nailed and it's my honor to be guest posting here on Amandalandish today!
So while Amanda is away at a wedding, myself and several other bloggers volunteered to keep her readers company with wedding-themed posts! I decided to go with a "something blue" theme and opted for Essie Sweet Talker, a baby blue shimmer.
Unlike certain recent Essie shimmers *cough* To Buy Or Not To Buy, Bikini So Teeny *cough*, you do get some shimmer with Sweet Talker, although it's still not as prominent as the bottle would suggest:
The shimmer isn't visible on the nail from far away and it didn't really show up on camera, but when you do see it up close, it's very pretty and delicate-looking. I don't know what it is with Essie and their shimmer formulas being so hit-or-miss. Thankfully the blue base color is adorable enough to distract me from the frustratingly illusive shimmer!
The overall formula is streaky, as you might expect from a pastel. It's nothing unforgivable, just one of the perils of light colors like this.
I don't see a lot of love for Sweet Talker on many blogs. I think it's kind of a more obscure Essie, even though it's part of their retail core collection. It's such a cute color though, so check it out next time you're in the market for some new Essie! I've had it in my stash for quite a while now and it's still one of my favorite Essies!
I've never even heard of this color from Essie but it's definitely a polish I'll be keeping my eyes open for next time I'm Essie binge shopping. I really love the color and the slight shimmer. A beautiful sister post to yesterday's blue from Jenn :)
Thanks Chelsea for this gorgeous swatch!
Please keep in mind that this is a scheduled post. As I am currently out of the country, please refer all comments to the guest blogger. Thank you!
