Twinsie Tuesday: Kleancolor Metallic Red

Don't you just love Tuesdays?  Well, ish.  Still means that we have four more days until the weekend but I relish in the fact that Twinsie Tuesdays falls so early since it gives me a bit of a bump before hump day.

Anyways, today's challenge was to choose a duochrome or metallic polish.  To double down with a second day of Marisa-endowed polish, I was so excited to use Kleancolor Metallic Red for today's post.

Since I'm a lover of all things red polish, getting my hands on a metallic red made my heart skip a beat.  But since my access to Kleancolor is limited, my lemming slayer Marisa, magically found it and sent it my way.  Thank you so much, lady!!

But to the polish!  Kleancolor Metallic Red is probably the coolest metallic I own.  Since it's not a true foil metallic, the metal appearance comes from the fact that this ruby red creme is infused with silver flakie pieces.  Well, not quite flakie, but I don't know what to exactly label the silvery pieces that add that metallic edge to this red.  You can only make those pieces out in the bottle, however, because once on the nail this color is the epitome of lit from within.

The polish was a bit on the thick side so I recommend to apply this very, very carefully so as to avoid a gloopy looking cuticle edge.  This was two coats.

I wouldn't say that this polish was hard to capture but it just photographs so glossy, the pseudo-metallic finish was a bit lost in these pictures.  I have to say though that I would wear metallics waaaay more often if they were formulated like this one.  Polish companies listen up: lose the foil-finish and add whatever these silver flakies are to create metallics!  Um, please.

  1. I have the whole Kleancolor Metallic Collection & I loved them, but I am just not a metallic person. The other downfall (for me) was that these colors stained my nails like no other... even when I used a basecoat!

  3. Oh really?  I didn't have that issue with this, although I typically am scared of red polishes in my cuticles because even if they don't stain, you look all bloody.  I'm sorry that you have such bad staining though!  I've heard layering staining polishes over nudes help, but I've never tried it myself.
