Essie She's Picture Perfect

Happy Friday, girls.

I have to say that I actually laughed when I saw that I received only one comment on my blog post yesterday on Essence High Spirits.  Not sure if the blogosphere found that greyed out green offensive, but I just chuckled when I checked my page last night and heard (saw?) radio silence.  Boy, when you guys don't like something, you're very passive aggressive!

Anyways, I hope today will be better suited to your tastes.  She's Picture Perfect from the Essie Resort Collection 2012 is probably the best formula I have ever experienced from an Essie polish.  Apart from the fact that it applied like a dream, the color is un-friggin-believable.  A slightly greyed out lilac, there is a very slight pink shimmer that catches in the sun.  I tried my best to capture it but unfortunately it refused to play ball.  Instead, I went with the most color accurate photo, which in my humble opinion, is beautiful even without the shimmer showing.

This is three coats.

I just think this shade is so pretty.  While lavenders have been coming out in droves since Essie Lilacism made them popular, Essie seems to have re-reinvented the wheel with this shade since I, who own about two thousand and twelve purples, have nothing quite like this color.  If you're going to splurge on an Essie this season, I vote for this one.

Hope this tickles your fancy!

  3. Haha, no worries! I just thought it was funny that I literally had no one respond for awhile. I've had uglier polish swatched, so the crickets seemed a bit out of place. Don't worry about it though ;)

  5. Thanks, Carly! You have to try it soon! It's more of a spring shade in my eyes, but it's simply perfection all year long.

  7. I've heard that Essie's formula has changed a bit and is way more pleasing now, and it sounds like its true, at least with this one.  It's funny because I still have yet to get Lilacism even though its on my "gotta get it" list, and now I want to add this one to my list too. lol

  13. This is such a pretty purple! Cordia got me this for my bday and I still need to try it. Love the layout, btw--very you! :)

  14. Yeah, it was Cordia getting it for your birthday that pushed me over the edge and made me need to get it. Don't ask me why that was the impetus. And thanks for the compliment about the layout: vintage damask and purple just speaks to me.

  19. The formula is worlds better. I used to really dislike Essie purely for that reason and now I'm really a fan. (And I also don't have Lilacism, despite all the lavenders I own.)

  23. this is such a pretty color. I love lavenders because somewhat they fit in between blue and purple :) and where have I been hiding to not know Lilacism was so popular. Thanks to my guy, I own the color just didn't know about the hype behind it.
