Essence High Spirits

Yesterday I guest posted on my friend Jenna's blog, I'm Still Thinking.  I didn't have a chance to link to it yesterday, so I've just included the whole post below and edited out a bit of the guest postiness.  Please make sure to check out Jenna's blog and wish her a speedy recovery as she rests up from her surgery!

While Jenna rests up (feel better!), I decided to share with you ladies an interesting green mani today because as we all know, Jenna loves all things green.  Essence High Spirits was sent to me by another lovely and talented blogger, Ash from Art Evolve, and I was so excited when I saw it in the mail.  Essence is hard to come by where I live so these little guys are like contraband to me!

What I love about this color is that it's not a true green.  Infused with super fine shimmer, this khaki green has almost a dusty quality to it that makes it look somewhat grey in certain lights.  These colors, while sometimes making me appear as if I'm suffering from slight case of rigor mortis, are, in my opinion, really soft on any skin tone.

This was two coats of a really perfect formula.  And it dries super quick too!

While I personally prefer myself in all my pallorless glory, I think this color would look ten times better on me when I have a bit of olive color on me (which happens every so often through indirect, prolonged exposure to the sun in the summer; most of the time, I burn like the Dickens).

My apologies for the poor state of my cuticles in this picture, but let's look past that to the fact that this green leaves no lobster fingers!  I know you're all yay'ing along with me internally.

Anyways, that's all for now.  Hoping everyone in the New York Tri-State area is surviving the heat!

  11. Ohmygosh, what a gorgeous sage green! I'm also in a sadly Essence-free zone, or I'd snap this one up in a heartbeat--crossing fingers I'll be able to find it in the States when I go this summer!

  12. Ulta now carries it, so if you're near one of those stores, you should be able to find one. My fingers are crossed for you!
