China Glaze Peachy Keen

Bonus post today just because.

For my birthday, the adorable ChiChi from It's Just Me...ChiChi sent me a surprise polish that has been on my wish list since the beginning of time.  I have the hugest weakness for bright pastels so when China Glaze Peachy Keen fell out of the package, I squee'ed with delight!

Peachy Keen is from China Glaze's Up and Away Collection of Spring 2010, a collection that  made me re-fall in love with pastels and reminds me that I definitely need to get more polishes from this collection.  There's no way to describe this color other than amazing.  A true peach, this color has no orange or pink undertones to confuse it with coral or a muted tangerine.  Instead, what you have is a bright, but not neon, yummy sorbet creme.

The formula was okay: was chalky and left bald spots the first two coats but was totally opaque the third.  However, when I did this color as my pedi the other day, I had no problems with just two.  Go figure.

I wish I could show you this polish in person because really, no picture does it justice.  I know it's just a basic creme, but there's something so special and cool about this, I feel like I'm absolutely head over heels for it.  Even the bottle doesn't capture how lovely and feminine this colors looks on.

What do you ladies think?

  1. It looks great on you! Funny how much darker on the nail it looks than in the bottle. Is that a pastel thing?

  7. This looks fantastic on you! It's one of those colors where the streaky spots, baldness and labor of a third coat become worth it in the end :)

  10. I heard and saw this polish shade on so many favs lists I finally popped and bought it. I was disappointing with the formula not being that great cream that I know CG can and does make. My bottle is watery and it needs a lot of patience and time to apply so you get an even coat - plus it takes me 3 coats and even then if not careful I have some swipe marks and unevenness.

  11. I completely understand your disappointment, especially since China Glaze does make amazing cremes. However, I will always make exception for such a beautiful color!
