Twinsie Tuesday: Savina Charm

Twinsie Tuesday, my favorite day of the week!

For today's challenge, the girls and I have to swatch our go-to polish/mani.  This week was a no-brainer for me: when in doubt, polish with red!

I have about 4 or 5 red polishes that I absolutely loooove, but instead I chose to swatch one of my newest red additions that I think is beyond perfect for summer.  Savina Charm is the brightest red jelly I have ever laid eyes on.  It's almost neon in certain lights, but for the most part, this hot tamale red is what I consider a super sexy polish.  But don't get me wrong, this is also a classy red number and I wore this to work with a black and white dress without looking like a dalmatian in a fire house.  In typical Amanda fashion, I'd have to classify Charm as the younger, happier sister of China Glaze Poinsettia...and that's saying something because big sister Poinsettia is pretty darn happy.

The formula, as with all Savinas I'm quickly learning, is fantastic.  I'm always pretty careful when applying red polish because once it hits my cuticles, I just look like a bloody mess.  This however, was not watery nor too thick and applied spectacularly without any pooling.  Unlike most jellies where I make sure to apply three coats, I only needed two for adequate coverage.

Swoon.  I am absolutely in love with Charm and just know this baby is going to make a lot of appearances in the coming months.  I'm obsessed with how it's not too orange-y or blue-y based and just pops off my skin.  If this isn't love, I don't know what is.

I can't wait to see what my Twinsies chose as their go-to manis!  Take a look by clicking the links below.

  11. Red jellies are great, especially since it's hard to get a good red creme. Next, I need to try a red holo!

  13. Love the cross between red and pink on this one - really pretty. I don't have access to this brand. Is it sold at one of the major etailers? How does it wear?

  14.  I also like Poinsettia too. It's not my all time fav red as I have been collecting reds since the mid 80's. Right now I think my all time fav red is OPI Dear Santa...not sure out of the red creams which my fav is - I have a # of 'em.

  15.  Red always works. I finally found a red lipstick that really fits that bill too - it's in the Tarte line - one of their new Lipsurgence lines...the more sparkly one of the 3 formulas. The red that I am nuts over in that Tarte line is called Fever. It has enough pink that it works all the time on me no matter what.

  17. 8ty8 Beauty online sells Savina for $3, but their shipping is about $7.  The wear is pretty good as well, although I typically change my polish every day, so I'm not the best gauge of that.  I can tell you however that the formula is fantastic and their color range is very wide.
