Jessie's Girl All Things Girly

I've really taken advantage of the fact that Pantone named this year's color Tangerine Tango.  I've never been a huge orange fan but I liked the color enough.  Now, I simply can't get enough of it.  This is the weirdest color obsession I've had so far since I really have no reason other than Pantone told me so.  I'm really a complete sucker for these things.

Anyways, Jessie's Girl All Things Girly is actually the first Jessie's Girl polish I ever tried and  I was completely drawn to how bright this peachy orange was in the bottle.  While I really loved what translated onto the nails it was not quite as bright as my swatches make it look.  Unfortunately, I was less than pleased with the formula which required 3 coats that applied patchy and messily.  However, I did receive a number of compliments on this polish from strangers and I for some reason began to think of this as a "summer nude."  Don't ask me what that means; I just jotted that down to myself when I was uploading this picture and don't really remember what I meant.

The second picture I think is more color accurate, but for some reason the sun just really brings out a lot of brightness in this shade.  I would personally categorize it as a dark peach pastel, but I'll let you ladies decide.

All in all, I really love how this color complements my skin tone and hope to work out a better arrangement with the formula next time I apply it.  I'll let you know how our relationship progresses.

In the meantime, what do you ladies think?

  2. That's so funny you say that because I'm swatching Trout Pout tonight. From the bottles though, I can tell you they look super different.

  5. I feel the same way! I have never been much of an orange fan, but once Pantone named it colour of the year, I started becoming obsessed ;-) I have the Sephora polish set and lipgloss set, and have bought several other orangey polishes.

  8. I'm totally a cog in the marketing machine.  Sometimes I feel I'm thisclose from becoming one of those people that stay up all night, watch tons of infomercials, and end up with random gadgets that do things you never even wanted done.

  9. I believe they're sold exclusively at Rite Aid (at least, that's the only place I've ever seen them).

  10. It looks really pretty on you. I would agree this fits in the peach pastel family. I can kind of understand why you would think it is a "summer nude". It's a nice summer color but not bam in your face.
