Funky Fingers Taffy Town

Because I've been sick for awhile now, I decided I need to bring some brightness into my life.  While I swatched this Funky Fingers about a month ago, looking at the pictures still brings a bit of jolt into my fever-induced existence.

Anyways, Taffy Town is actually my first and only Funky Fingers.  I recently found out they are sold at one random store in my area, so I braved NYC rush hour traffic in a trip that would've ordinarily taken me 15 minutes to drive, to arrive at the Five Below shop forty minutes later.  But I didn't mind too much when I saw all the pretty polish, and happily picked this up for myself and few others for swap buddies.

While I am an immense fan of corals, what made Taffy Town stick out to me what that awesome and present gold shimmer that you can even see from the bottle shots.  However, I did not expect how neon this polish would turn out once applied!  While I certainly dig the color, I learned shortly after it wasn't exactly the most office-friendly polish.  Oops.  Thankfully, my boss gets a kick out of my polish obsession.

I really do love this polish, however, the most disappointing aspect was the formula.  While I prefer a polish to be on the thicker side, this was uncomfortably thick and I'm lucky I was able to level it out in 2 coats.  Since this is, like I said, my first Funky Fingers, I don't know if that's standard or if I just have a defective bottle.

For safety purposes, please put on sunglasses before viewing these swatches.

The polish isn't quite as pink as the flash photo makes it appear, but I included it to show how neon this baby can get.  The first picture, however, is the color accurate one and while the gold shimmer doesn't exactly translate on the nail, it certainly adds an extra oomph to an already bold polish.  If it wasn't for the formula, I might have already run away and eloped with this polish, the color is just that fantastic.

What do you ladies think?  Have you ever tried Funky Fingers before?

We can't get them in Ireland and I haven't seen that many polish swatches so I don't know if I would try to buy them yet. I'll have to google some swatches :P

  14. no Funky Fingers sold 'round these parts - so have not tired. I like this shade - I am a sucker for hot pinks that are almost fuchsia....to neons that flash blue.

  15. I don't think I have heard of this brand but it has an interesting name "Funky Fingers". That stands out. I like the color. Did your boss say you can't wear colors like this anymore? At previous jobs, it was in the handbook that bright colors on nails were not allowed. Luckily, my current job isn't as strict.

  16. Wow! What a gorgeous bright polish! Too bad that the formula wasn't the greatest but gorgeous nonetheless!

  18. Yeah, I saw a lot of glitter ones when I went, but there were a number of cremes that were interesting.  Not too many, but enough to make me want more.

  21. No, my boss actually didn't even comment on this color.  But she's never said I can't wear any particular color, but mostly because I avoid bright or crazier colors during the week.  She actually thinks it's funny I change my polish every day.
