Twinsie Tuesday Jelly Sandwich

It's that time again: Twinsie Tuesday!

So I'm not going to lie, I was not excited for this week's challenge: jelly sandwich.  I've never done one before and since I don't own that much glitter, I hadn't a clue how to accomplish this.  At one point, I was sitting in the floor of my room at 3 in the morning with dozens of polishes and a piece of paper trying to come up with a good combination.

After consulting with Nory, I decided to use the truest jelly I have, Essie Lollipop, with the thickest glitter I have, Mattese Elite Baise Moi.  Here's my result:

I do love Lollipop but I'm just not a fan of this whole jelly sandwich thing.  Anne has actually blown me away with a number of her creations, but for some reason I just can't replicate it.  To me, this looks like squished watermelon.  What do you think?

For what I imagine are infinitely better jelly sandwiches, please make sure to check out my other Twinsies!

And give a warm welcome to our newest member, Brandi :)

  10. I'm glad you liked it! I wish that the colors would have shown up a bit more, though. Would've avoided the squished watermelon look ;)

  11. Maybe your glitter didn't dry well enough before the top coat? This is my first jelly sandwich so I'm limited in the advice I can give :(

  14. I think this looks really cool! Red is an interesting color choice, reminds me more of cherries than a squished watermelon! I've been loving all of these jelly sandwiches, great twinsie tuesday!

  17. I hear what you're saying about cherries, but I think because of the seemingly black glitter my head went all watermelon.  But I'm really pleased you enjoyed this week's theme :)

  18. I like it! I don't think it looks like squished watermelon at all haha. I agree though, I had a surprisingly hard time replicating the jelly sandwich look.

  24. Thanks!  I just made sure the top coat of red was on the thicker side so that I didn't move the glitter.
