Seven Deadly Sins

I stumbled across this very interesting tag on Liquid Jelly and really wanted to do it myself.  Apparently, it started on YouTube, so it's not the typically "tagging" tag that we've all seen circling around.

What is your most expensive beauty item and what is your most inexpensive beauty item?
The most expensive beauty item I own is actually my morning moisturizer.  I have exceptionally sensitive and dry skin so finding a thick enough cream that heals my eczema and allergy-prone skin and keeps it hydrated through the day has always been difficult.  The one product that I discovered and now swear by is a cream called Atopicool which is only sold in Israel.  It's about $40 USD and I have to get my family in England to send it to me since they go to Israel often.

What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?  What product has been the hardest to get?
My love/hate relationship is definitely my curling iron and various other curling tools.  I'm thankfully very lucky to have thick, healthy, fairly straight hair.  However, because my hair is so heavy, it refuses to keep a curl.  I've literally used gallons of spray, have burned the skin off my hands, watched and read every tutorial on the web, and used 15 different tools... and I end up looking like I was caught in a humid windstorm.  So in terms of the hardest to "get," it's definitely a curl.

What are your most delicious beauty products?
I love perfume and body sprays that smell like pastries: vanilla, coconut, cake etc.  I hear often that I smell like a bakery, which to be honest, I can't complain about.  My perfumes of choice are Aquolina Pink Sugar, Miss Dior Cherie Eau de Parfum, and Body Shop Vanilla.  Yum.

What beauty product do you neglect due to laziness?
I'm pretty good about my upkeep.  I guess if I was running out the door, I throw on big sunglasses and forego makeup.

What beauty product gives you the most confidence?
Definitely mascara and eyeliner.  I have very large eyes and I love the retro cat eye look on me.  I tend to wear that with no eye shadow and it just makes me feel really clean and Joan Holloway-sexy.

What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
Random question given the fact that this is about beauty products.  But okay...I'm attracted to intelligence, wit, and generosity...and good skin and teeth.  I don't have a particular type, but clean is always important.

What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
Bags and dresses.  Love me some lush leather bags and form fitting dresses.

  1. You have family in England? Thats so awesome!

  2. Yup, half my family lives in London :)

  3. i love reading posts like this =D

  4. Very interesting! I may have to do this!

  5. This was really fun to read!! :D

  6. Great post!  It was a fun read.  That cream is expensive!!!  How large is it? I totally understand why you spend on it though, it sounds totally worth it.
Have you ever tried Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar?  It's one of my favorites.  I think you might like it based on the description of your favorite smells.

  7. Not super large, sadly.  In Hebrew, it says 30 grams which according to my handy dandy Googling ability, means about 1.1 oz.  Yeah, not a good deal but I can make a pot last for about six months.

And I looove BBW Warm Vanilla Sugar!  Odd thing is though, the perfume and body spray makes me sneeze.  No other perfume has ever done that, so I must be allergic to something random in that product.

  8. Oh no!!!  It smells so good!  Sorry.
