Milani Mint Candy

Happy Saturday, ladies!

I blame/thank Nory for turning me into a bit of a green freak when it comes to polish.  Lately, I just can't seem to get enough of them.  While I've struggled with finding the right shade of mint (Sally Hansen Green Tea has my eternal gratitude), Milani Mint Candy isn't quite that pastel pistachio color that either causes your heart to flutter or your hands to go all crustacean.

Instead, Mint Candy is more of a bright sage green...if that makes sense.  It has that dusty quality that makes me call it sage but the blue duochrome-esque shimmer that comes out in the sun makes it perfect for spring and summer.

It applied well in two coats, although I personally find Milani formula a tad bit on the runny side.  I couldn't accurately capture the blue duochrome shimmer in natural sunlight so my first photo is slightly fuzzy.  The second flash photo demonstrates the shimmer, but unfortunately that's not quite the way the shimmer manifests itself in real life.  The bottle shot in the second picture, sadly, showcases it best.

Major sigh for lackluster photography.  I do, however, love this color and think it really favors my paler skin tone.  No lobster hands here, ladies!

Have any of you girls gotten your hands on any colors from the new Milani collection?

  3. In my search for the perfect green, I've acquired quite a few minty greens. They are definitely my favorite.

  4. I've come to the conclusion that most greens are, but I can't wrap my head around those more yellow (or in my head, vomit) based greens or the greens that look like liquefied ninja turtles.

  5. I know, they did a terrible job with the displays: only 2 polishes per color.  But if I see another display at my local CVS, is there any in particular you'd like me to pick up?  Since I don't know when I'm placing that massive order with the CC's, I'm happy to pick those up (if I can) in the meantime to satisfy the spring polish craving ;)

  7. I think your skin tone is better suited for mints than mine so I'm sure your collection looks amazing on you.  I keep buying and purging, buying and purging...mints are so hard for me!
