Brucci Sophie's Sweet Pink

You know I love me some Brucci.

So I was super excited to see that they added a whole bunch of new beauties to their collection.  Sophie's Sweet Pink just stuck out to me since I've been on this weird hunt for awhile for a grandma-y pink shimmer that actually works with my skin tone (you'll see in tomorrow's post how OPI Gouda Gouda Two Shoes is an example of a grandma fail).

This creme warm-toned pink is chock full of golden shimmer that really sparkles in the light.   While fairly muted, this works with my skin tone...not against it.  I imagine it's not everybody's cup of tea, but the shimmer just really makes this polish very cool to me.

This is 3 coats.

So here's the rub.  I wore this out to dinner with a friend of mine who really liked this on me. However, the restaurant we went to was pretty dark and every time I looked at my nails, the color just looked like putty.  I don't intend to be in darker, restaurant light often, but for some reason it just ruined this polish a little bit for me.  This is a color I will only wear when I'm planning and outdoor, daytime activity.

What do you ladies think about grandma colors?  Are there any polishes like this that work for you?

  13. Me too!  I think while it does have the grandma-ish factor, the gold shimmer is very trendy and really makes this much more interesting that just the base color.
