Brucci Kaitlyn's Deep Violet

I love purple polishes (if you couldn't tell) and I really love a good gold shimmer.  So when I saw this new Brucci out on display, I was instantly drawn to it.  I just loved everything about it...in the bottle.

Unfortunately, I was a bit underwhelmed with Kaitlyn's Deep Violet once it hit my nail.  I mean, yes, it's a lovely medium to dark purple semi-metallic, and yes, there is an oh-so-subtle gold shimmer running throughout, but once the colors were mushed together as a lacquer on my nail, the bottle magic dissipated.

On the plus side, the formula was perfection, as it is with all Bruccis.

This is two coats.

I included the "love at first sight" bottle shot so you can see why I was disappointed.  Sigh.

Anyways, I don't have much to say because while it is a nice color, I feel slightly duped (no pun intended).  I seriously need to lower my expectations when I go polish shopping.  I get my emotions and wallet in a terrible twist.

What say you, girls?

  5. Yeah, Brucci does that to me sometimes.  Builds me up, only to disappoint.

  6. Eh, you win some, you lose some.  This will look better on someone else so I've sent it to them :)  In the end, it's all good.

  7. I thin Brucci needs to stick with cremes, it's really what they excel at best.

  8. It does look gorgeous in the bottle! So sad it did not translate on the nail though!
