Another 11 Questions

I know that some people aren't the biggest fans of tags, but personally, I think a lot of them are fun and really help readers and bloggers get to know each other better.  To those of you who don't enjoy these, my apologies; to everyone else, please thank Kelly from the Polish Enthusiast for tagging me and coming up with a new set of questions!

What is your favorite thing about painting your nails?

I like that it's both a way to express yourself and accessorize impermanently.  I'm not a fan of tattoos but I can appreciate why people get them.  Nail polish to me is like a temporary tattoo: if I'm more somber, I can wear black polish for a day; if I'm feeling more girly, then on goes the Barbie doll pink!  I really love that.

Are you a big fan of Konad art?

Not on me, but I've seen some pretty amazing things that my fellow bloggers have done with Konad.  Hat's off to them.

Do you change your polish every day?

I actually do.  For one thing, it's actually a great stress reliever for me and helps me relax and unwind at the end of the day.  I also have so much polish that I need to wear, it's hard to keep a color on for too long.

What is your favorite kind of polish: holo, glitter, creme, pastel, jelly, etc.?

I love holos but I typically favor cremes and cremes with shimmer.  It's more about the color than the finish for me.

Do you like longer or short nails?

Shorter, but not nubs, are my preference.

What would you like to see more of from polish companies?

More cohesive collections.  I'm tired of seeing collections that just looked slapped together.  I'm also a little bit annoyed at companies that are heavy on the PR and terrible with their formulas.  What's the point of great messaging if your product is shoddy?

What is your favorite season?

Even though I'm born the first day of summer, I've always counted down the minutes until fall.

What is your favorite food?

That's a hard one, but I have a weakness for carbs.  Bread, pasta, rice...

What do you like to do when it's nice outside?

My boyfriend and I really like to walk so when the weather is nicer it's just more enjoyable than when we brave the cold for the sake of walking.

What's your New Year's resolution?

I've never done one and think they're typically doomed to fail.  I think it's just a ploy from the diet and gym conglomorates to get people to spend their money.

Where is your favorite vacation spot?

My family lives in London and I've been visiting there since I was in utero.  It's my all-time favorite place to go to.

So ladies, I'm not going to tag anyone but I really liked two question, so I'm going to ask all my readers to answer in the comments:

What is your favorite thing about painting your nails?

What would you like to see more of from polish companies?

  1. I love walking also.  I walk 8 miles from work during the summer.  Once or twice a week.  I'd love to visit London soon.  I went when I was four and only have pictures to remind me of the experience.

What I love about doing my nails is the endless possibilities of manicures with colors and designs. It's like artwork on my nails ;0).  It makes me smile when I have something really pretty on.

  2. Walking in NYC is always the best because you always have something to look at or someplace to walk into.  It makes the blocks just move, you know?

And you have to go to London!  And when you do, I have some great restaurant suggestions for you!

The endless manicures are awesome but sometimes make me cringe because it makes me unhappy with the manicure I have on.  I'm always looking at the next untried bottle, which doesn't always allow me to enjoy the polish I have on.

  3. My birthday is the first day of summer too!! June 21st?? Our half birthday is the first day of winter :) Neat!

  4. I'm actually June 20 (the first day vacillates between our birthdays). But yay for Gemini/Cancer cusps!

  5. I'm  always glad to hear that I'm not the only one out there who paints her nails every day :) I completely agree with you, it's the best way to unwind at the end of the day, and also such a fun way to express yourself!

I also agree that more cohesive polish collections would be really nice. For example, I got super excited about a-england's Legends collection, partly because the polishes looked gorgeous, but also because of the interesting story behind them, and the way in which they all seemed to work together. Also, I would be excited if mainstream polish brands started introducing more unique glitters, like the ones we're seeing from indie brands these days!

  6. I'm with you all the way about mainstream polishes moving out of their comfort zones.
