Savina Wisteria

I'm becoming a real fan of Savina polishes.  I haven't posted any of my swatches of them (until now), but let me assure you, the colors and formulas alone are so fantastic, it shocks me these aren't more well known.

Wisteria is a shimmery, glass flecked medium purple creme that is pure butter on the nail.  For this mani, I used three coats because the shimmer gives the illusion of bald spots, but I probably could've gotten away with two coats.  Everything about this polish strikes me as something that Zoya would do, but instead this is sold in the same bottles as China Glaze (which confused me the first time I saw these in Nordstroms Rack) and go for about $4.

The color of Wisteria is truly amazing but super difficult to capture.  In normal light, this purple seems to have a very, very slight red undertone but with flash, blue undertones magically appears in the pictures.  I'd say that the first picture is more color-accurate but the second picture showcases the glass flecks beautifully.

I've never really posted a polish that photographs so differently with flash, but I figured I'd give you ladies an opportunity to see the best parts of this polish.

Have any of you tried Savina?  Any other colors you think I should try?

  2. Me too! I like the fact that they used a nonconventional flower for the name, which definitely differentiates itself from other typically named polishes in similar purple hues.

  6. If nothing else, you'll love the application. While they look like China Glaze, they apply more like an Essie.

  10. This is actually my first time seeing Savina. I don't remember seeing it on other blogs and definitely haven't seen Savina anywhere near me. It's a gorgeous color though with and without flash.

  12. That's the first Savina polish I've seen reviewed.  I went to a trade outlet the other day, and was v disappointed in the very few brand of nail polish they had, but this was one of them.  Thanks

  14. Color suggestions:
    - Black Pearl (its certainly darker than the colors that you have been posting, but it is one of a kind as far as I'm concerned and I constantly get complements on it)
    - Sapphire, Sparkling Water, and Rocker Blue (you mentioned shimmery blues elsewhere)
    - Electric Green
    - XXX Kiss, Valentine, and Crazy Red
What can I say, I'm definitely a huge Savina fan!

  16. Haha, my pleasure. I forgot to mention Racing Car Red, plus they also have some really great darker purples. Also, I believe a chain in the Midwest called HyVee carries the brand. I hope that helps :)
