OPI Panda-monium Pink (and an attempt at layering)

This is a pink that I wore awhile back in the heat of my pink search that completely blew my mind.

OPI Panda-monium Pink is a pastel pink from the Hong Kong Spring 2010 Collection, the collection that you may know as collection that brought jade colored polishes to the forefront.   In three coats, Panda-monium Pink finishes glossy, non-streaky, and with no visible bald spots.  Yay for pastels that don't streak!

With flash, you can see the white base that gives this polish a slight (and I mean slight) lavender tint to it and while very subtle, this color pops on the nail.  I absolutely adore this polish and I seriously could not stop staring at my hands while I wore it.  Just so ladylike!

Panda-momium Pink wore really well so I was hesitant to take it off.  Instead, I decided to layer it with Essie Demure Vix(en), a polish that really disappointed me when I bought it last year.  One coat over my OPI mani gave this more of a nuder hue with only a slight (and I mean slight) purply pink shimmer.  Demure Vix(en) is seriously a dud of a polish in my opinion and I had hoped that layering it would bring out some of that mauvy shimmer shown in the bottle.

Without the shimmer visible, as seen in the last picture, the color looks almost puttyish.  I don't know about Demure Vix(en), but OPI Panda-monium Pink is truly a must-have for those who like their pinks.  Absolutely gorgeous gem of a polish that I feel has not gotten the publicity it deserves.

Do you ladies have a polish that you are completely smitten with but are disappointed in the reception its received by the polish world?

  7. love Panda-nonium Pink! and the name is just so cute! Demure Vix(en) looks so pretty in the bottle. Maybe Demure Vix(en) would look great over another color, like a dark purple, blue or grey.

  8. I'll have to try it again. The blue or purple idea may work and being out more of the shimmer. If not, I may have to gift Demure Vix(en) away to a better home.

  9. Panda-monium Pink is such a great color. As for the Essie.....that's sad :(  Maybe you can use it to franken? If it doesn't look good over a fantastic pink, what will it look good over?? haha  :)

  10. I'm a terrible frankener (frankenstein?), so I'll try it one more time otherwise it's off to another home!
