Mattése Elite Mon Amour Collection Review

In their latest collection, Mattese Elite has come out with a spring collection combining girly glitter and French romance.  Today, I have three polishes from this collection to share with you ladies.

from left to right:
Baise Moi
Amour De Ma Vie
Embrasse Moi

Amour De Ma Vie
Love of My Life

My favorite of the collection, Amour De Ma Vie is what I'd consider a sister polish to Butter London The Black Knight.  A black creme absolutely suffocating in rainbow micro glitter, I did not anticipate how opaque this polish would be in two coats.  The glitter was fine enough to not cause too much grittiness and does not look at all gritty on the nail.  The application was pretty good for a heavily glittered polish and didn't drag too much under the weight of all those rainbow sparkles.

Embrasse Moi
Kiss Me

Embrasse Moi was actually the biggest disappointment.  In the bottle, this is a fantastically bright fuchsia glitterbomb that I thought might even win this glitterphobic over.  Unfortunately, it just kinda ended up being a pretty unsaturated jelly in two coats.  The one thing I will give this polish is that it is SUPER glittery and flashes silver in real life.  Unfortunately, no matter what setting, flash, or no flash, I just couldn't capture that silver sparkle.  However, as a whole, Embrasse Moi is a pass in my book.

Baise Moi
F**k Me

Uhh...so I'm going to ignore the name (I'm fairly literate in French and when I saw that name I was slightly shocked since it's pretty crude, even in French).  This is not an Amanda polish by any means, but I will say that for a glitter polish that is just that -- glitter in a clear jelly base -- it does the trick.  There are multi sized circle glitter that coats really well in one coat; this is one coat over L'oreal Penthouse Pink.  It reminds me of OPI Rainbow Connection but I can't say it's a dupe for sure since I don't have that particular polish.  I surprised myself by preferring this to Embrasse Moi.

As a whole, I find this sampling of the Mon Amour Collection to be intriguing.  While not my personal cup of tea, I was surprised by how happy and well made these polishes are for pretty basic glitters.  I recommend that even if you're not a glitterati you try to get your hands on Amour Da Me Vie, that baby is pretty special.

Which one do you like best?

  1. Baise Moi is pretty! I can't believe they named it that though. Wow. I just got Rainbow Connection and I think the colors of the glitter in Baise Moi is a little brighter. You're right though, very similar. There are oh so many DL Happy Birthday dupes out there.

  5. I still prefer ADMV the best since it's the least glittery of them all.

  6. Yeah, the name kinda took me for surprise. It's not like they're Man Glaze and have embraced all that. Oh well.

And thanks for letting me know about the possible dupe. I'll have to Google image to see what you're talking about.

  11. I like the pink one the best! The multi color glitter reminds me of Milani Gems.

  12. Good catch! And their bottles are too, which would make this the ultimate dupe.
