Sonia Kashuk Taunting Teal with Disney Villains Blue Glitter

A little while back, I was lucky enough to win The Epitome of Superficiality's 25 Follower Giveaway.  I thought that was pretty cool because a) Nicole, the blogger, lives half in Singapore, half in Australia and I would be getting polish I would never have access to otherwise, and b) it was one of the 3 giveaways (my first wins ever) I had won in under two weeks.  Talk about when it rains it pours!

Anyways, Nicole's giveaway was pretty cool: the entire Disney Villains polish collection and a few other makeup pieces (I'm very excited to try out the gold eyeliner she sent...I'm a fiend for eyeliner).  The one that stood out the most to me -- and I want all my long-time followers to brace themselves when I say this -- was a medium blue jelly packed with rainbow glitter.  I know, I know.  You read correctly: I did say glitter.  I don't know...maybe I got caught up in the villains of my childhood past, maybe I  was distracted by international sparkly things.  Who knows?  All I did know was that this little guy had to be the first win I tried.

One coat over two coats of Sonia Kashuk Taunting Teal (thank you to my girl Nory for sending this beauty to me in our first swap!) and for some reason this mani looks black.  Even in real life it didn't have the vibrant blue that I had hoped would come alive layering the two polishes.   Take a look for yourself:

This is still pretty in photos, but unfortunately, my camera was not able to pick up how bright the glitter is and so it kinda looks matte and/or flat.  Let me tell you that flat it is not; this glitter is very in your face...well, at least by my standards.

The other colors in the win are basic jellies, cremes, and one white shimmer that I look forward to swatching.  Thank you to Nicole for allowing me the opportunity to try polish from across the globe!

N.B. While I swatched this last week, I thought that this would be a fun and glitzy post for New Years Eve.  Here's wishing you and yours a happy and a healthy 2012!

Now you must tell me: what are you all wearing on your nails tonight??

  6. That's a cute bottle! It's too bad that the glitter doesn't pop as much on the nail, though.

I'm not wearing anything really glitzy tonight, just China Glaze Velvet Bow.
