Essence Colour & Go No More Drama

This post was inspired by two of my favorite bloggers, Nory (Fierce Makeup and Nails) and Katherine (Haul of Fame).

In my very first swap, the lovely Nory sent me my very first Essence!  The color is lovely, a dusty, demure lavender.  This is the closest to nude I'll go since I hate mannequin hands.  Application was slightly difficult because while the brush was wide the way I like it, it was a mini bottle and the formula was thick.  Two coats, though, rounded out the creaminess.

The reason why I chose to put this on in the midst of my dark polish binge was because Katherine had updated her blog background.  I was on my Droid when I checked it out, and I loved the color so much, I whipped out the Essence.

As you can see, this is clearly lavender.  I feel kinda stupid though, because when I went onto Katherine's blog from my computer yesterday I realized the background was blue not this light purple.  Sorry Katherine!  This is a completely off-color tribute!

Anyways, I really like this color and it was perfect for the color purge I didn't realize I needed.  Thank you, Nory!

What do you ladies think of Essence polishes?

  1. I'm glad I inspired you - this polish is lovely even though it's not an exact match to my new background lol. We need a place to find Essence in NY! The Ulta over here has an empty display 24/7 :(
Congrats on your first swap! And thanks for the shout out xoxo

  2. Also, I can't get over how perfect your nails are! Shape, length, everything!

  3. Aww you are too sweet!! It looks so gorgeous on you!! I love it!! I hate that all of their bottles are tiny and by the way if you ladies would like some Essence, I can definitely pick some up at my Ulta, we have a ton!! :) just email me: fiercenails@gmail.com,

I <3 my swap buddy!!! Thanks for the shout out! :)

  4. very pretty colour : )
    i already follow you ; )

  5. You have an Ulta?!  You're already a step ahead of me.  What's going on NYC??

  6. Aw, you're the sweetest :)

You should see my right hand, though.  I have a writer's cramp on my middle finger that I got from writing too hard when I was younger.  It's like my left's ugly hunchback twin.

  7. I don't mind the size of the bottle (that way it wouldn't make me feel bad about buying a bazillion...like sample sizing!).  I think I just have an issue adjusting to new brush handles.
