Weekend Haul

My boyfriend and I tend to walk a lot over the weekends.  Since he lives in New York City, I had a field day stopping into every Duane Reade, CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, and various other cosmetic stores on our rounds throughout Manhattan.  These are the deals and (sometimes) steals from the past few days:

From left to right:
Sally Hansen Midnight in NY
Sally Hansen Gilty Pleasure
Sally Hansen Lavender Cloud
Essie Size Matters
L'oreal Whimsical
OPI DS Extravagance

The Essie, L'oreal, and OPI were all major lemmings; the last two I was actually shocked to find in stores.  I got the Essie full price (the color was calling to me from the moment I saw it swatched), got the L'oreal with a $2 off coupon, and scored the OPI for about the same price it's going for on eBay including average shipping.

The Sally Hansen trio, however, was a packaged sale deal going on at Walgreens for the holidays: 3 CSMs for $9.99.  The sets are kinda mix and matchy, so there are random assortments of trios.  While none of the three is particular unique, each served some sort of lemming: Midnight in NY looks slightly holographic in the bottle so of course, I couldn't stop myself; Gilty Pleasure kinda suppressed my appetite for OPI Warm and Fozzie...but we'll see how long that lasts; and Lavender Cloud looked like a slightly different take on the basic white (which I actually don't have in my collection!).

You'll be seeing one of these newbies very shortly...

  1. I love OPI and Essie. They're really expensive in Australia though. I think you'll like my blog.

  2. I almost bought that same Essie today, but decided not to. There were only 3 of them, though, so I know I'm going to end up going back for it. Hopefully it's still there. There was a dark grey, too, but I believe I have something almost exactly like it already in my stash.

  3. Soph, that really sucks that those brands are so pricey over there. I can live without OPI, but no Essie? Unbearable. Maybe try eBay? Once I get more of blogging bearing, I'm hoping to start international swaps, so stay tuned! (I also took a look at your blog and I like what I see :) Good luck with everything!)

Sarah, I haven't swatched Essie Size Matters yet but I'm hoping it becomes my go-to red for fall and winter because it look so rich. Plus, how amazing is that name? Let me know if you end up getting it and what you think!

  4. International swaps I like the sound of that! Thanks for following- following you now :) xox

  5. I love them all can't wait to see swatches!!!

  6. You won't have to wait much longer, Nory! I'm about the post one right now...
